WasteMan was made for Think or Swim? a filmmaking project which raised young people's awareness of climate change, coordinated by Bristol Natural History Consortium, supported by DEFRA’s Climate Change Fund. Between October 06 and April 07, 6 groups produced films in response to seminars and workshops on climate change and
filmmaking presented by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, BBC Natural History Unit,
and climate change experts. Mindpaw worked with 1st year media studies students @ City of Bristol College. On average, each person in the UK throws away 7 times their own
bodyweight in rubbish every year. WasteMan
emerges from a landfill to show a young man how unsustainable his
lifestyle is, and help him change his ways. The film features stunning compositing work by Melmation which pays homage to The Terminator franchise.
