Over five nights, the Victorian leisure gardens of Calderstones Park, were transformed into a bewitching nocturnal world by one of the largest audio-visual events ever staged in Liverpool. Power Plant consisted of 26 sound and light installations featuring novel uses of old, new and familiar technology (many from common household objects), to create an unforgettable experience with a unique, harmonious soundscape. 6000+ people spent several hours wandering around the gardens. As always, WormCam charmed, turned-on and disgusted audiences in equal measure.

Power Plant was originally commissioned by Oxford Contemporary Music together with University of Oxford Botanic Gardens and was produced by Simon Chatterton. The core artists were Mark Anderson (who did wonderful work for Project Neptune), Anne Bean, Jony Easterby, and Kirsten Reynolds. Power Plant was part of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture programme 2008.
